The Abigail bridge pickup
Description:
The Abigail is a very balanced bridge pickup. It has warm mids on the G, B, and E strings, great twang and a tight low end on the E, A, and D string, all of which make the Abigail a great workhorse Telecaster pickup. Named after the legendary pickup winder herself, Abigail Ybbara.
I use Alnico 5 magnets for the E, A, D strings and Alnico 2 magnets for the G, B, E strings. I give the Abigail a few extra turns to balance out the mid and high frequencies. This also helps bring up the volume.
Set-Up:
I like to set the Telecaster pickup height at 5/64th on the bass side and 4/64th the treble side. You can adjust to taste from there. With all my Telecaster guitars I like to turn the guitar volume down to about 8, then turn my amp and gain up a touch to compensate. When I want full power I roll my guitar volume up to 10.
The Abigail bridge pickup is a great match with the Abigail neck pickup.
I also make The Abigail for left handed guitars.
I only use premium parts. Handmade in the USA. Sound samples at the bottom of the page.
Technical Specs:
7.5k DC Resistance
42 awg Plain Enamel Coil Wire
Alnico 5 Magnets on the E, A, D strings
Alnico 2 Magnets on the G, B, E strings
Wax Potted
Height adjustment screw and rubber tubing included
